富家千金江传雨认定“江湖小报”等八卦含有巨大商机，却被父亲斥责。江传雨一气之下离家出走立志要令父亲刮目相看，江母暗中聘请天下第一剑客时天青保护她。二人后又与江传雨未婚夫林予谦相逢。三人齐心协力，开展造“星”计划，赚得盆满钵满。然而危机也随之而来：粉丝的对掐、“私生饭”的威胁。江传雨游走在各方势力之间，时天青和林予谦对她的爱慕令她难以抉择。而她也渐渐发现，数次袭击的元凶竟和江家有关……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
