Beyond her personal vision, the film also explores the themes of collective trauma, vengeance, human evil and compassion.。35岁的邱有利每天做着靠买彩票中大奖的发家梦，妻子刘艺冰虽然万般教育忍耐，但还是对邱有利靠买彩票憧憬生活的做法彻底失望，提出离婚。邱有利做生意，屡试屡败，刘艺冰始终默默地在背后帮助他。刘艺冰生产，邱有利提出要孩子的抚养权，遭到刘艺冰的反对。孩子得病了，需要移植肝脏。邱有利把自己的肝脏移植给孩子，得到了刘艺冰的原谅。就在邱有利完全放弃靠彩票发家致富的想法时，却被告知自己以前买的一张已不知被放在哪里的彩票中了大奖。。
