电视连续剧《丁宝桢》，根据丁宝桢的生平事迹改编，集中表现四件事：一，反腐敢担当：慈禧太后心腹太监安德海，以到苏杭采办名目南下，一路为非作歹，丁宝桢不顾自己安危，将安德海就地正法。二，水利恤百姓：黄河决口，数百万人流离失所，各地调来的治河官员纷纷推诿，束手无策。丁宝桢本在贵州家乡养病，不顾病情，赶回山东治水，两个月工竣合龙，治好黄河。其后，又在四川筹集资金，大修都江堰，完成清代历史上最大规模的修复。三，盐政利百姓：改革盐政，打击官商勾结，解决四川省财政赤字，并让贵州等地的食盐价格大幅下降。四，洋务强国家：创办四川机器局，不用洋人，不买洋枪洋炮，用中国人办理洋务，造出大量枪支弹药，强国强军。。Weapons of Death is not the most original Polizi flick you're ever likely to see, but that's not too much of a problem since the genre tends to borrow from itself often anyway.
