该作品1977年诞生，于1980年被剧场版动画化，由竹宮惠子描画的SF漫画『奔向地球』，时隔30年后被TV动画化，将于4月全新登场！ 原作中描写的社会，遭到环境破坏，高度依存计算机，跟我们目前生存的世界十分相似。在那样的一个世界中，对于一群年轻人来说，何谓“正义”，何谓“希望”？ 《地球…》是少女漫画家竹宫惠子连载于《月刊漫画少年》1977年1月号到1980年5月号上的SF漫画作品。共由四个部分构成。该作曾获得过1978年的SF大赏——星云赏漫画部门赏，以及第25届小学馆漫画赏。该漫画已决定制作TV版动画，并于今年4月发送。担任动画监督的是山崎理，机械理念设计为出渕裕，人设为结城信辉。 故事讲述的是距离现代非常遥远的未来——S.D.（Superior Dominance-特殊统治体制，西历3千数百年）的时代，为了拯救环境遭到了严重破坏、徘徊于灭亡边缘...。A uniquely emotional documentary feature film that will touch the heart of audiences around the world.
